Next time you take a walk down Main Street, U.S.A. take a close look at the castle. You will notice that the "bricks" get smaller the higher up the castle goes. This technique is called forced perspective. The castle looks a little taller than it would if all the "bricks" were the same size.
Did you know that the original plans for Disneyland were to be in the shape of a Mickey head, but Disney thought it would cost too much and also said that if they wanted to expand the park, it would ruin their plans so they decided not to.
The money people throw into the wishing wells is all given to charity, as is the money thrown any-/everywhere in the park.
The Disney Princesses (as well as any face characters) are all Union Actors, not just any cast members!
Steve Martin was, in fact a magician at the magic shop. But before he did that, he sold park guide books at the main entrance. Apparently he was an amazing salesman, and could sell hundreds in one shift. He held the record for most sold for decades. Amazing since he was only around 13 at the time.
The in-character actors are not allowed to go off-character while they are in view of the public. This means that the Little Mermaid can not take off her "fins", and most important, that the actors inside the characters, such as Mickey, Donald , and Goofy CAN NOT take off their "Heads".
Well, there you have it for this edition of Fun Disney facts and secrets!!

1. Monkey decided that she would like to conquer the china cupboard. She somehow got it open, which is amazing because it sticks and I can't get it open sometimes! As a flew across the room in what seemed to be slow motion, I saw visions of shattered china all over the floor. She managed to only grab a cup and drop it on the shelf which chipped another cup! Not too much damage for what could have been a catastrophic event! :o)
2. It never fails that the prescription that the doctor prescribes is either not covered by your insurance AND is a bazillion $$ !! Monkey has a yeast infection in her diaper area that requires some different diaper rash ointment. Apparently the good ole stand by of Nystatin, which I used on the other two when they had it, isn't good enough to knock it out anymore. So she prescribed VUSION! Okay , A) insurance doesn't cover it so the assist. card she gave me doesn't work. B) I could buy it for the sum of $250 IF I can even find a pharmacy who carries it!! LOVE IT!! After much research, I found out that the active ingredient in VUSION is the same as what is in MONISTAT just in a higher dose! Guess what I bought.... MONISTAT!! Small doses mixed with Desitin diaper rash ointment should do the trick!!
3. My princess, that sweet thing, told me that I had a big belly today! What do I do with that? Ugh.... I may go into depression now! I have always stressed "HEALTH" to her-- not necessarily "SIZE 0"!! That is all I can do! It is so hard to fight society on this!
4. 8 more days till we go to Chicago and counting!!
5. Princess and her dad had date night last night! They had a lot of fun. They tried out our new "indoor mini golf" that just went in up the road! GREAT place!!
Have a great week!!

So, I mentioned a few weekends back that we were debating and really considering whether or not to go to Chicago this August with hubby while he is there on business! Everything with this trip has just perfectly aligned so far to enable us to go. The Lord is good! I think this will be such a great experience to for the kids. Not to mention that two of their MOST favorite stores are there! American Girl and Lego!! Princess has been working SUPER hard on her thumb sucking(You can read about that here!,)and an American Girl doll was her ultimate reward if she does it! Now she may get to pick it out in person!!!
So we booked our tickets are making a plan! We are staying in the city. That way when Hubby is working outside the city in Shoumburg (sp) with the car, we can walk to all things Chicago and occupy ourselves! Can't wait to see me and three kids walking like lost tourists in the city alone! ahhh... adventure!! :o) We will be staying at the Intercontinental !
Lincoln Park Zoo
Museum of Contemporary Art
WEDNESDAY
American Girl Place
Grant Park Free Music Festival @ Millennium Park
Navy Pier Wednesday night “Rock Candy” (Pop/Rock Band) at 7pm @ Bud Light stage
THURSDAY

Now, these were carefully arranged with the idea of FREE in mind! There is a lot to do in Chicago for FREE on the right days!! The kids are getting excited! We leave August 4th early and come home August 7th late! It will be a whirlwind, but it will be good to see a new city and get away for a couple of days! Gee I hope daddy can join us for SOME fun!!

I think the instrument petting zoo was our favorite! They got to try out some instruments! We also were able to attend one of MANY shows being offered in the theatre that day! IT WAS ALL FREE!! The kids got to flex their theatre muscles with crafts, music, and shows!! The show we picked to see was Brady Rymer and the Little Band that Could!! Very cute and HIGH energy for the kids!!
Crazy kids with their Target bags! Woo hoo more reusable bags for shopping! (just gotta remember to take them!)18 July, 2009
onkey's hair being in her face, but have waited to cut it until we could take her down to the Magic Kingdom for her first haircut. At the Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street USA, they make it a big to do!! The Harmony Barber Shop is located on a corner of Main Street in the Magic Kingdom. The shop opened in 1975 and is a tourist attraction that doubles as a working hair cuttery. It's an old-fashioned barber shop with a 100-year-old hat rack, a mechanical cash register of similar vintage and occasional appearances by Main Street's "Dapper Dans," a roving barbershop quartet. That day has come!! She did great! She sat very still and just soaked up all the attention! They put tons of stickers on her shirt to keep her occupied! They saved ALL the hair they cut off for me, and gave her a nice certificate commemorating this fun day. The best part for Monkey, was her Mouse ears! They say "first haircut" on the back!! Too cute!

Gettin' her "first haircut" ears!!!
OMGoodness... look at her looking at herself in the mirror!!

One day I was walking down the beach with some friends when someone shouted....'Look at that dead bird!' Someone looked up at the sky and said...'where?'
My colleague and I were eating our lunch in our cafeteria, when we overheard one of the administrative assistants talking about the sunburn she got on her weekend drive to the beach. She drove down in a convertible, but 'didn't think she'd get sunburned because the car was moving'.
***They Walk Among Us!!!!***
My sister has a lifesaving tool in her car it's designed to cut through a seat belt if she gets trapped She keeps it in the trunk.
***They Walk Among Us!!!!!***
I couldn't find my luggage at the airport baggage area. So I went to the lost luggage office and told the woman there that my bags never showed up. She smiled and told me not to worry because she was a trained professional and I was in good hands. 'Now,' she asked me, 'Has your plane arrived yet?'... (I work with professionals like this.)
***They Walk Among Us!!!!!!!!***
While looking at a house, my brother asked the estate agent which direction was north because, he explained, he didn't want the sun waking him up every morning. She asked, 'Does the sun rise in the north?' When my brother explained that the sun rises in the east, and has for sometime, she shook her head and said, 'Oh, I don't keep up with that stuff'
***They Walk Among Us!!***
Saving the best for last!
She used a lifeline? The audience is just as bright!

Too bad so sad!!!

THEY WALK AMONG US!!!!! (and vote!)
