This edition will be only Magic Kingdom facts!!!
The Magic Kingdom
~The park was built over a huge underground complex. Disney did not dig tunnels under the Magic Kingdom. The corridors were built at ground level. The tunnel complex consists of 15 foot high walkways, meeting rooms, computer rooms, etc. with all having exposed utilities (it somewhat resembled a parking garage). The tunnel complex originates from the castle and spreads out like spokes from a wheel to the other lands. In fact, the bottom two floors of the castle consists of the tunnel complex.~No guests under 16 is allowed in the tunnel system because it would bother children, seeing two Goofys passing each other, Mickey without a head, seeing Minnie eating with Snow White, and ruin the magic.
~The buildings on Main Street are built with "forced perspective." In fact, most multi-story buildings in the Magic Kingdom use this technique. The first floors are near regular size, but the second and third floor facades are built to 5/8 and 1/2 scale, giving the illusion that the entire building is taller than it actually is. The space above the shops is used for storage and offices. The offices over Main Street have windows looking out toward backstage. The office walls are 3-4 feet away from the false windows on Main Street. The second floor of some restaurants and shows (such as the Diamond Horseshoe) are also used for storage and dressing rooms.
~If you look at the second floor of the shops on Main Street, you will see names in the windows. When Walt was building the park he wanted to credit the designers so he put their names above the stores. The art designers are on the arts and crafts store, and so on. Walt's name, is on the train station (which is one of his loves) and the shop that sells his favorite dessert -- ice cream!
~As you approach the Castle and walk up the right-side walkway (not the walkway leading into the Castle but next to the Castle), there is a water fountain. Behind the water fountain, there is a small fountain with a statue of a princess in it. Behind the statue, there is a crown painted on a mural. If you get down real low as you are drinking water from the water fountain & look up, the crown appears to be sitting on top of the head of the princess. It was intentionally painted there so that when children look at the statue while drinking, they could see the "crowned princess" in clear view!

This is the directors cut, so it is grainy and has the numbers scrolling, but you can see the finished product airing NOW on the Disney Channel! We saw it around 7 ish in the evening on Sunday!!
My boy is the one you can see the most. He is the boy playing the video game right between and directly to the right of Alyson Stoner and Mikey while they are talking. Then he is right beside Mikey in the closing "bye" shot! Princess is beside Alyson when she says "wonder if I can beat the Jonas Bros." and in front of her brother during the last scene! Daddy even got in on the fun in the closing scene too. He is directly behind my boy!!
It was so much fun watching them watch themselves!
We are so blessed to be able to take advantage of these opportunities!!

The kids were given another wonderful opportunity to be filmed for Disney's 365 segment that airs on the Disney Channel!! This time they didn't have to dance there little legs off. They had to stand there and play wii and nintendo ds games for 2 hours. They were advertising the new Phineas and Ferb and Toy Story Games!! Gee... it is a hard life! The host , MIKEY, was back with special guest ALYSON STONER. She is the voice of Isabella on P&F and is from Camp Rock!! I am 100% convinced you won't have any trouble seeing them this time! It was a much smaller group! I will let you know when it is airing!
After the shoot, the kids were hanging out waiting for autographs from Alyson Stoner. She was so sweet to stick around and sign autographs!! Monkey was IN LOVE with the host of Disney 365, Mikey! She followed him around the set and begged him to pick her up! He was equally in love!! They had a great time together!! (check out the pics!) Other than being obsessed with Mikey, Monkey was in awe of "rella's" castle!! She kept gasping every time she saw it!
When we were all done, we were allowed to spend the rest of the night at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom!! What a great night!! Christmas has officially started in our house!! Lots of christmas lights, hot cocoa and cookies, snow, and Santa ushering in the season!!

Every once in a while we get some amazing opportunities!! This one was to go and see the new TINKER BELL movie before it is released in Oct.! Very cute... make sure you pick this one up!
We watched the movie and then got the kids' pictures taken with Tink and her buddy Terrance, and the two trolls!!
Monkey isn't too sure... I love that she is staring at her!!
One of the highlights for me is that bpaulsenfans.com/about.htm">ROB PAULSEN was there in person to chit chat and sign autographs! Who ispaulsenfans.com/about.htm"> ROB PAULSEN you ask? Why he is the voice of "Bobble" and the bigger troll in the TINKER BELL MOVIES, but even more cool than that for me was that he is the voice of "Pinky" from Pinky and the Brain and "YAKKO" from the Animaniacs! SO AWESOME!! I love those shows!
After our Tinker Bell fun... we took Monkey to meet the princesses! She has really been getting attached to Cinderella now!! She watches that silly movie over and over!! She calls out to her daily... "RELLA"!! I think she was in shock!! She meet Belle and Sleeping Beauty too, but her favorite will always be RELLA!

Night of Joy at Disney's Hollywood Studios was a success!! Well, for us at least! I can't speak for everyone else!! The rain held off, the night was a bit muggy- but cool... and I got to see my favorite artist! CHRIS TOMLIN!! His concert was amazing! The spirit was movin'!! I think hubby's work and lack of being at home -paid off. I think if one person could be touched by this event and call it a success... he did a great job! Here is Monkey... she cracked me up!! She did this the entire first song. She wouldn't let me hold onto her because she kept switching from patting her legs to clapping and then raising her hands!! We LOVE Chris Tomlin!!
The kids were troopers. Not without some complaints that they were tired and hot, but they hung in there! We stayed to see Chris Tomlin, saw a bit of Kutless, and then watched our worship pastor play in the talent showcase! He did very well... btw!! You can check out his music HERE!
We then went over to the Boardwalk hotel to spend the night. Thank the Lord , I didn't have to drag the kids home at 11:30pm. It was just a short jaunt across the street! We woke up in the morning to pouring rain, so no fun in the sun at the hotel. We walked around and hung out in the arcade for a bit and let daddy get some more sleep! Then off to home!!
Great little weekend!!

I thought it would be fun to explore all things Disney through fun facts and secrets!! You may get something confirmed or even learn something new!! Are you ready? Here we go!!!
Next time you take a walk down Main Street, U.S.A. take a close look at the castle. You will notice that the "bricks" get smaller the higher up the castle goes. This technique is called forced perspective. The castle looks a little taller than it would if all the "bricks" were the same size.
Did you know that the original plans for Disneyland were to be in the shape of a Mickey head, but Disney thought it would cost too much and also said that if they wanted to expand the park, it would ruin their plans so they decided not to.
The money people throw into the wishing wells is all given to charity, as is the money thrown any-/everywhere in the park.
The Disney Princesses (as well as any face characters) are all Union Actors, not just any cast members!
Steve Martin was, in fact a magician at the magic shop. But before he did that, he sold park guide books at the main entrance. Apparently he was an amazing salesman, and could sell hundreds in one shift. He held the record for most sold for decades. Amazing since he was only around 13 at the time.
The in-character actors are not allowed to go off-character while they are in view of the public. This means that the Little Mermaid can not take off her "fins", and most important, that the actors inside the characters, such as Mickey, Donald , and Goofy CAN NOT take off their "Heads".

Hubby is working and has been working on a very cool event all year!! I am sure all you locals have heard of it!! NIGHT OF JOY!! It used to be hosted by the Magic Kingdom, but now is in its second year at the Hollywood Studios! It is on September 11 and 12, and is going to be an awesome event that you DON"T want to miss!
From 4:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. each night, hear live performances by today's top bands in contemporary Christian rock, pop and gospel as you ride some of the Park's most rockin' attractions.

We have have been trying to get my hubby's brother and sister-in-law from PA to get down here for a visit! Yippe skippee!!! They came , they came!! First stop --Animal Kingdom Lodge to eat dinner and visit the "savannah" with all the animals!!!

They spent their days at Disney and then came over for dinner one night! The next day we met at their hotel to swim for a while!! They stayed at ALL Star Movies! The kids got a big kick out of the movie themes! They stayed in the Dalmation area! They had dog statues all over and bones in the concrete! So cute! 
I love that she is standing on her tip toes to kiss his nose!
We are SO happy they came to visit!! The kids love and miss their cousins!! Thanks for coming guys! We LOVE you!!

Does the title grab your attention? It should!! This is a great opportunity for those in the area!! I have seen this Disney on Ice show and it is so fun for the kids!! I even took Monkey, and she was captivated!! Read on...Mom Central is looking to find moms interested in helping us spread the word to their community, either offline or online, about Feld Entertainment's Disney on Ice and Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus shows. If you have not already been acquainted with Mom Central, we are on online community for moms, which provides a forum for our members to discuss parenting topics and events, sample products, take surveys, and connect with other Moms across the country. If you have not done so already, you may visit our site to learn more about us and register to become a member.
Once a member, you can receive our newsletter and also be alerted of any other samplings, blog tours, events etc. These moms will serve as "Feld Family Activators" (FFA) who will then spread the word about the shows in their area. We are currently looking for activators in the Miami-Sunrise area for the Disney On Ice presents Worlds of Fantasy show coming in March, and then will “re-activate” you in September for Disney On Ice presents Princess Classics.The FFA's will have access to some great coupon codes for their friends and family (four tickets for $44) and be invited to a behind the scenes event on opening night, March 26th at 5:30 at the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise. The event will feature fun Disney personalities and snacks for your family.
As an activator, you would also receive a free family four pack of tickets to see the show following the event that night (3/26) at 7:30pm.. All that we ask is that you alert your respective communities by whatever means are easiest for you (ie. Blogging, twitter, posting on message boards, emailing flyers, giving flyers out to any groups that you may participate in, posting on message boards etc.) Whatever you do, I would appreciate it if you could send me a link (if it was online) or a short description if it was offline. You may also hold a giveaway for tickets to opening night as well, you will just need to let me know how you plan to organize it (ie on a blog, at a PTA meeting, raffle at live event etc.) and then give me the winner’s name. If you do have a giveaway, the winner will then be able to pick up their tickets (with a Picture ID!) at the will call window the night of the show.
If you don't want to sign up to be a FFA, you can still attend the show at a discount just because you are one of my faithful blog readers! The coupon code MOM can be entered at www.ticketmaster.com for both Sunrise and Miami venues. (minimum purchase of 4 tickets required) Let Lauren at momcentral know if this is something you would be interested in participating in and if you’d like to come to the event! She will need to know how many tickets you will need if you can come; tickets will be given out at the event.

When the grandparents come in town it is time to "play"!! That is usually when we go to Disney. Living and working there... well... I know people may think she should be shot for saying this,but... it DOES get old! In order to keep it "new" for the kids, we try to only go to Disney when family/friends are in from out of town or for special events.
So our first stop was Epcot to do some exploring and then dinner at the new T-Rex Cafe at Downtown Disney! It is owned by the same people as RainForest Cafe so it is a lot alike. The menu at T-Rex is MUCH better though!! Yummmmmmy!! If you have a dino lover.. this is the place to eat!!! My boy LOVED it and knew every dino name that he saw! There are animatronic dino's everywhere! They also have partnered up with Build a bear to do "build-a- dino"! It is quite a racket, but for one time special occasion... I would give in!
It was a bit chilly, but we bundled up!!

T-REX Cafe! The blue background is actually the "ice cave"! It changes colors through out your visit!! We were seated in the Ice Cave. Made my eyes go wiggy, but was still fun!
