Entrance to Epcot
My most favorite and cherished time at Christmas is when we go down to Disney to take part in a number of events!! First we went to Epcot to visit "Holidays around the World". That is where all the countries in the "World Showcase" are decorated for Christmas in their cultural traditional Christmas splendor. In each country, there is a "scroll" with their traditions written on them. The kids had a lot of fun going from country to country reading each scroll and learning about Christmas in other countries. Each country also has a "storyteller" or Santa from that country to tell us about their traditions! It is very educational and inspirational! We then usually go and see the Candlelight processional, but this this year we didn't make it. :o(
The Archway to the world showcase & reading the scroll in "Germany"
Life size Gingerbread house and recipe card.
Catching some "snow"!
Then we were off to the Disney Hollywood Studios (yes, this park has changed its name 3 times since we lived/worked here! Crazy!!) for the Osborne Family Festival of Dancing Lights!! This is the second or third year, I believe, that they have been "dancing". They put the lights to music ! It is fascinating to see this giant light show. Pictures can't describe it , so I included a video too!! While you are watching all the beautiful lights, they blow "snow" on you. It is truly a Christmas tradition that we will always make a point of doing each year! It was a bit chilly this year, but still fun. (Puts you in the spirit even more) The kids look forward to it every year. This was "monkey's" first trip to Disney at Christmas. She LOVED the lights and music. She clapped a long with the songs when she wasn't all bundled up! Enjoy the video!! (don't forget to turn off the music in the left sidebar!)
I am working on the Santa Clause pics. It was a very interesting trip! The bottom line... Santa was just too big, too red and white, and too hairy for "monkey"! Bet you guess what the pics will look like!! :o) Blessings for a good week!
